WACO, Texas - The Lady Bears take the fourth place spot in the Women's Intercollegiate Equestrian National Coaches Poll after their 15-5 victory over South Carolina.
The undefeated Auburn Tigers remained in the No. 1 position after their victory over Georgia, the defending Varsity Equestrian National Champions. After the loss, Georgia dropped to third place with their 3-1 record. Auburn has owned the top spot for two of the three polls released this season.
Texas A&M moved up to No. 2 in the polls and are only four points away from the Tigers. The Aggies remain undefeated and will compete against No. 4 Baylor, No. 5 Oklahoma State and No. 7 Texas Christian in November.
The Lady Bears moved up two spots this week and tallied 36 points. Oklahoma State remained in fifth place for the second straight poll and trails two points behind Baylor.
The second five of the Top 10 begins with South Carolina in sixth place with 28 points. Texas Christian moved three spots this week to No. 7 after their victory 12-7 over South Carolina. The rest of the poll follows as Fresno State (22), Kansas State (17) and New Mexico State (11).
Baylor will host No. 3 Georgia on Nov. 21 at 2 p.m. and Texas A&M on Nov. 22 at 11 a.m.
The collegiate coaches competing under the Varsity Equestrian Championship umbrella initiated the national poll. The poll will be released bi-monthly with the next announcement scheduled for Nov. 11, 2008. The final poll will be released April 21, 2009.
