A goal in the eighth minute by Kansas' Monica Dolinsky handed the Baylor soccer team (5-11-2, 1-7-1) a 1-0 loss to the Jayhawks (11-6-1, 4-4-1) on Sunday at the Jayhawk Soccer Complex.
The Bears had 10 shots during the contest, but were able to get just one on goal as Bethany Johnston rifled a shot in the 17th minute that was saved by KU's Julie Hanley.
Gianna Quintana had another solid game for Baylor, coming with eight saves and allowing just one goal. In the eight minute, Dolinsky lined up a free kick from 27 yards and knocked it in the upper near corner of the goal for a 1-0 lead.
Baylor's defense held Kansas's offense at bay the rest of the way, but was unable to find a goal itself. With a minute to go in the game, Christine Clark fired a shot that was just wide of the goal, allowing the Jayhawks to salvage the victory.
Baylor will wrap up regular season play on Friday Oct. 31 at No. 10 Texas. Game time is set for 7:00 p.m. at Mike A. Myers Track & Soccer Stadium.
