WACO, Texas - The Baylor men's and women's cross country teams will be back in action this weekend following an extended break for both teams. The No. 14 Lady Bears will compete at the Pre-National meet in Terre Haute, Ind., while the men's squad and a "B" women's team will run at the Chile Pepper Festival in Fayetteville, Ark.
The women's team is coming off a third-place finish at the Paul Short Invitational, and has since moved up from 16th in the official rankings released by the United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association. The Lady Bears will compete at the Pre-National meet for the second-straight season, as Baylor took 13th at the meet last season.
The men's squad will run at the Chile Pepper Festival after finishing 11th at the Stanford Invitational. In 2007, the men's team finished 13th at the Chile Pepper Festival, later taking sixth place at the NCAA South Central Regional on the same course. In addition, the women's team will send a "B" team of freshmen and sophomores to compete in the event.
Complete results and recaps will be available on Saturday afternoon.
