After a 38-10 conference win over Iowa State Saturday night, the Baylor football team now sets its sights on its the Cowboys of Oklahoma State. Kickoff is set for 2 p.m., Saturday, at Boone Pickens Stadium in Stillwater, Okla.
Here are head coach Art Briles' thoughts on the Bears' win against Iowa State and Saturday's game against Oklahoma State:
On Saturday's win over Iowa State...
"We had guys that played extremely hard and extremely passionately. That's how we were able to win the game. We excited offensively. We rallied to the ball on defense and our special teams were really really solid last night."
On the play of the defense...
"I think one of the big keys to the game was that we just played with a lot of confidence. That's what we have to do and what we'll continue to strive towards. We have to know what we're doing and we have to do it in a confident fashion. I think we're getting to that level."
On the kickoff returned for a TD to start the second half...
"That type of play ignites everybody; the crowd, the players. Much like an interception or fumble recovery, it's just one of those things that really gives you a burst of energy without a doubt. When something like that occurs, it really throws a big boost of emotion into your team."
On the team effort in Saturday's game...
"Our players wouldn't give anything less. We're going to play with great effort ... Strength, speed and effort are the three things that we hang our hat on."
On Antareis Bryan...
"A.B. [Antareis Bryan], the last couple of weeks, has really played well. I think a lot of that goes back to him just feeling more comfortable and having confidence in himself, his abilities and his teammates. That's always big when you can get a guy out on the edge that plays with a lot of confidence and that's what he's doing."
On Kendall Wright's highlight reel play in the fourth quarter...
"You don't see many of those every day. Once again, that's kind of like a kickoff return, once something like that happens it inspires everyone and he's an inspirational player. He plays from inside out and that's what you have to do if you're going to be great."
On Oklahoma State... "What we've got to do is just be us. We've got to go up there and play with the same intensity, same emotion, same confidence that we played with last night. We're still fighting for respectability and credibility and this is a chance to earn some."
