WACO, Texas --- The Baylor soccer team will look to start 3-0 for the first time since 2003 as the Bears travel to San Antonio, Texas, for a rare midweek match when they face UTSA on Tuesday, Sept. 4, at 7:00 p.m.

"It was good to get the season started with a couple of wins at home; but, we have to keep building and get ready for a good UTSA team," head coach George Van Linder said. "It will be our first test on the road so I expect it to be a very good match."

In its first weekend of play, Baylor controlled both matches as the Bears cruised to a 2-0 win over UL-Lafayette before rolling to a 4-0 victory over Texas State in the second match of the year.

Six separate Baylor players scored on the weekend as Amanda McGrath led all scorers with a goal and two assists and leads the team with four points. Senior goalie Ashley Noah was perfect in net for the Bears as she did not allow a goal while making two saves in 167 minutes of work.

UTSA was picked to finish second and third, respectively, in this year's Southland Conference Preseason SID and coaches poll. UTSA also garnered four SLC preseason all-conference honors, led by sophomores Chelsea Zimmerman, Ezinne Okpo and Chea Pajak (All-SLC first team), while sophomore Veronica Najera collected All-SLC second team honors.

The Roadrunners opened the season with a 2-1 loss to SMU and enter the contest with the Bears with a 0-1 record.

Baylor leads the all-time series, 1-0, after picking up a one-goal victory in Waco last season.
