For the second consecutive year and only the eighth time in school history, Baylor's season-opening football game will be televised, as College Sports Television has selected the Bears' Sept. 1 opener at defending Mountain West Conference champion TCU for national broadcast. Kickoff between the Bears and Horned Frogs is set for 5 p.m. at Amon G. Carter Stadium in Fort Worth, Texas.

Baylor and TCU will be meeting in Fort Worth for the first time Oct. 1, 1994, when the Bears recorded a 42-18 victory. TCU leads the all-time series between the teams in games played at Fort Worth, 19-18-1, but Baylor has beaten the Horned Frogs three consecutive times on their home field. Last year, TCU rallied in the second half for a 17-7 victory over the Bears at Waco in the first meeting between the longtime rivals since 1994.

This will mark Baylor's first appearance on CSTV. Fox Sports Net carried last year's Baylor-TCU game, while ESPN broadcast Baylor's 1999 season-opener at Boston College and its 1990 lid-lifter at Nebraska, while ABC telecast the Bears' 1997 (Miami, Fla.), 1978 (at Georgia), 1976 (at Houston) and 1966 (Syracuse) openers. In 2006, Baylor had five games carried on TV.

Baylor's Sept. 8 home-opener against Rice and its Sept. 15 Texas State game will both kickoff at 6 p.m. in Floyd Casey Stadium, while the Bears' Sept. 22 contest at Buffalo will start at 6 p.m. (Eastern, 5 p.m. Central). Kickoff times for Baylor's Big 12 Conference games will be announced 6 to 12 days prior to the game.

The Bears averaged 37,080 fans for their seven-game 2006 home schedule and had a single-season record 259,559 fans pass through the Floyd Casey Stadium turnstiles a year ago.
