The Baylor football team began its final week of spring practice Tuesday afternoon with a full-pad workout on the Floyd Casey Stadium turf.

"The defense came out to play and the offense kind of drug around a little bit," said Baylor coach Guy Morriss. "I don't know what we did over the four-day break or if they are confused, but today wasn't good enough offensively."

Heading into the final three practices of the spring, Morriss and his staff are still trying to sort out the five-man battle at quarterback.

"I don't know if he (Bears' offensive coordinator Lee Hays) has settled on three yet or not," Morriss said. "It depends on what day of the week it is which three step up. I would imagine in his mind he probably has a top three in mind."

Baylor will workout Wednesday night under the lights, then go through a helmet and shorts practice on Thursday afternoon in its final practice before the April 14 Dodge Green & Gold Game which starts at 1 p.m. in Floyd Casey Stadium. Admission to the spring game is free.

"I'd like to see some consistency and a little more energy from our offensive football team (the rest of the week)," Morriss said.
