Baylor Head Coach Kim Mulkey:
On the defense:
"Some of it was that (TAMU-CC) missed some open looks. The kids are a little fatigued and leg weary. I know that they like that there was a game tonight, but I wish there was practice. There were some tiny steps this team took tonight that the average fan won't see... We had a rough practice. That's probably why we were leg weary. I didn't care who we played tonight. I was concerned about our team."
On improving:
"Nobody on our team can take a play off because we aren't good enough. We look really good when we are all hustling."
On the next game:
"I'm happy with the win, but concerned about the next opponent. A lot of people don't understand how good St. John's is... They are athletic and big in the paint."
On Jhasmin Player's 13 rebounds:
"She and Danielle tied for leading rebounder tonight, and (Jhasmin) will have her name up in our locker room."
Baylor Guard Jhasmin Player:
On rebounding:
"We did terribly in that last game, and the only thing you can do now is make it right. After watching film it was very disappointing. Scoring isn't difficult for this team, but rebounding is different."
Baylor Post Danielle Wilson:
On the defense:
"I think it was the way we were rotating the ball and we were looking inside.
On her 19 points:
"I was trying to be a big inside presence for my teammates and open up the perimeter players."
