USA Basketball Roster Announced for Collegiate Tour

WACO, Texas - The Baylor Lady Bears and their fans will host an impressive cast when the USA Basketball Women's National Team visits the Ferrell Center on Tuesday, Nov. 6, at 7 p.m. The game in Waco will be the fourth stop of an eight- game collegiate tour for USA Basketball. Prior to coming to Waco the team will play at Maryland, Connecticut and Tennessee and after playing Baylor, will take on Arizona State, Texas A&M, USC and Stanford.
It was recently announced that Lisa Leslie (Los Angeles Sparks), a three-time Olympic gold medalist (1996, 2000 and 2004) and MVP of the 2002 FIBA World Championship, will return to USA Basketball as a member of the 2007-08 USA National Team and will participate in the team's Oct. 31 - Nov. 15 college tour. In addition, Katie Feenstra (Detroit Shock) has been officially added to the 2007-08 USA National Team roster and will participate in the college tour.
In addition to featuring Feenstra and Leslie, the 10 player USA National Team roster for the 2007 College Tour includes 2004 Olympic gold medalists Sue Bird (Seattle Storm), Swin Cash (Detroit Shock) and Diana Taurasi (Phoenix Mercury); as well as Seimone Augustus (Minnesota Lynx), Kara Braxton (Detroit Shock), Kara Lawson (Sacramento Monarchs), Taj McWilliams-Franklin (Los Angeles Sparks) and Loree Moore (New York Liberty).
Tickets for the Baylor Lady Bears' exhibition basketball game against the USA National Team are on sale. The $10 tickets for the Baylor-USA game are available through the Baylor Athletic Ticket Office at Floyd Casey Stadium (8 a.m.-5 p.m.), the Ferrell Center Ticket Office (11:30 a.m.-4 p.m. daily) or by calling 1-800-BAYLORU or 254-710-1000. Tickets may also be purchased at BaylorBears.com. In addition, individuals wishing to purchase or renew season tickets may do so via the same outlets.
"I'm excited that our fans and all of Central Texas and the people who follow women's basketball will have an opportunity to come see some of the best players our country has to offer. I think I'm going to be just as excited as a coach to be able to watch that much talent assembled on a USA basketball team," said Baylor head coach Kim Mulkey, a 1984 USA Olympic gold medal winner.
