Baylor women's soccer returns home to host Texas Tech in the regular season home finale at Betty Lou Mays Field as part of Senior Day, beginning at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
The Bears are coming off a 1-1 weekend in which they garnered their first Big 12 Conference victory of the season against Nebraska on Oct. 19. The road victory was Baylor's first since Sept. 9 when the Bears earned a 3-1 neutral site victory over Stetson in Jacksonville, Fla., as part of the Kick Out Cancer Tournament.
Baylor (7-8-2) is hosting Texas Tech (6-6-2) for the first time since 2005, when the Bears captured a 3-1 victory. Last season the Bears traveled to Lubbock, Texas, to face Tech; in that contest, the Red Raiders earned their first victory over Baylor since the two teams began play in 1996.
The Bears are 10-1 all-time against Texas Tech and have out-scored the Red Raiders 37-11.
Baylor's home finale will also be Senior Day at Betty Lou Mays Field. This season the Bears have seven seniors on the squad that have combined to account for nearly 45 percent of Baylor's total offensive scoring.
This season's senior class that will be playing its final home contest on Friday includes: Megan Sherrell (9g-7a=25pts), Jessica Hutton (5g-2a=12pts), Rose Zapata (2g-2a=6pts), Pat Roscovius (2g-1a=5pts), Shea Yates, Laura Brock and the Big 12 record-holder for most saves in a career, Ashley Noah (7-5-2, .795 SV%, 1.63 GAA).
Friday's contest against Texas Tech is scheduled to begin at 7:00 p.m.
