Baylor Head Coach Scott Drew:
"We did some things well enough to win, didn't do enough. Credit to Texas A&M for making a lot of free throws and making the big plays down the stretch."
"One thing South Carolina and Texas A&M, the two teams that have beaten us have both had senior point guards that make big plays down the stretch."
"What's so good about this defense, you don't get a lot of good looks and when you do get some good looks, you haven't had some good looks so then your not in the rhythm. And normally with our guards we have enough guards so someone is hot, and we didn't have anybody hot tonight."
Baylor Forward Kevin Rogers:
"We made a nice run, put us up five, they did some things that they did well. They secured it, and their best players just took over the game."
"I think they started denying me the ball early, trying to take me out early in our plays, and it kind of threw us off a bit. Credit to Coach Gillespie and A&M for doing that, I was in a rhythm and they took me out early."
"Josh is a big person, and he was doing such a great job, and when he fouled out it was a big blow."
Baylor Guard Tweety Carter:
"We just executed, ran plays, and holding the ball and making shots down the stretch. We got up and just got tentative and complacent. As a guard you have to see that, and you have to slow the game down, and slow your team down, and make them play defense."
"Everybody in the Big 12 plays tough defense, they are going to come out and pressure the ball. Texas A&M just did a good job tonight pressuring the ball."
Texas A&M Head Coach Billy Gillispie:
"This was a great win for us. This was a real hard fought game by two teams who were really passionate about trying to win a game. There were a lot of good players out there where they were having difficult times making easy shots. There weren't too many easy baskets out there and that goes to the effort of both teams. Every time we play them they have more players who are more difficult to stop with more experience. They've done a fantastic job over here, and every game we've had, its been within three or four points."
On Kevin Roger's:
"He's really good. He was really good last year, but he's a more experienced player with a great deal of confidence. Every one of their guys continue to get better. They do a great job developing players and recruiting them and coaching them. But everybody knew he was going to be a great player. There was about a million people recruiting him, and as good as he is now, he is just going to get better. He's a hard guy to guard and definitely a difficult matchup for us."
Texas A&M Guard Acie Law:
"We were trying to get a ball screen and they started to cheat a little bit. So, I started to go the other way away from the screen."
"In the Big 12 each win is cherished... when we get those w's we are really passionate about it... Baylor's a great team."
Texas A&M Forward Joseph Jones:
"I test the refs and try to play physical, and tonight the refs let us play physical, and both teams played pretty physical."
