How did playing a non-conference schedule help your team this year?
It helped us a lot, we were able to get used to playing with each other. We were able to get use to the atmosphere and playing against college players. They got our sophomores ready, like CJ (Jerrells) and Henry (Dugat) and all the other guys for conference play. It helped us a lot.
What is the most positive thing you have seen from your team so far this season?
We don't stop fighting. We play real hard every day, even though sometimes it doesn't turn out the way we want it to. We don't stop fighting and we keep playing together. We love each other.
As a freshman, how has the transition from high school basketball to college basketball been for you?
It's been a big change as far as playing defense, as far as scouting and as far as getting used to playing in front of thousands of fans. It's been a fun experience.
What have the upper classmen done to help make you comfortable this season?
They tell me to stay focused and keep playing like I know how to play and not worrying about anything. It's basketball, I need to just come out here and play hard.
When you have a day off, what do you like to do?
I like to come in here and get some shots up, hopefully. I like to make some shots, that's what we need to do. We need to get some shots up in the gym, because we haven't been shooting the ball well.
