The Baylor track and field teams head to the great Northwest for the University of Washington's annual Indoor Invitational meet, Friday and Saturday, Jan. 26-27, at Dempsey Indoor on the UW campus. Action begins Friday evening with the 5,000-meter run, distance medley relay and multi-events, and continues all day Saturday. Admission is free to all spectators.

"We are looking forward to an outstanding meet this weekend in Seattle," said Baylor second-hear head coach Todd Harbour. "The facility is outstanding and we are hoping to put up some great times. The competition will be keen."

This weekend's UW Indoor Invitational will feature one of the nation's deepest fields of any meet outside the NCAA Indoor Championships, as seven top 25 teams and nearly two dozen former NCAA or Pac-10 Conference champions are slated to complete this weekend. Full teams from Baylor (No. 8 men), Stanford (No. 1 women/No. 18 men), Oregon (No. 6 men/No. 16 women) and host-Washington (No. 12 men/No. 18 women) are slated to compete. In addition, selected student-athletes from UCLA (No. 17 men), Texas Tech (No. 19 women), BYU, Arizona and Minnesota are also scheduled to race.

Through the season's first two meets, Baylor has posted four NCAA Indoor qualifying marks on the men's side and none on the women's team. Senior Reggie Witherspoon has provisionally qualified for nationals in both the 200 and 400 meters, while senior Kevin Mutai is also a provisional qualifier in the 400 meters. In addition, the Bears' 4 x 400-meter relay team of Witherspoon, Mutai, freshman J.T. Scheuerman and sophomore Quentin Iglehart-Summers, have posted the nation's fastest time this winter at 3:05.82 two weeks ago at the Arkansas Invitational.

Live results of this meet will be available on Washington's athletics web site, gohuskies.com.
