WACO, Texas - Sophomore Tricia Abbott (Houston/Memorial HS) has decided to leave the Lady Bear basketball program Baylor head coach Kim Mulkey announced.

Abbott, a 6-3 post, was one of four sophomores on this season's roster. As a rookie she appeared in 26 games and averaged 2.2 points, 2.5 rebound in 8.6 minutes an outing. Her 20 blocked shots ranked third on the team.

"Tricia came to me yesterday and said that after a lot of thought, she had decided not to play basketball any more," said Mulkey. "She enjoys being a student at Baylor and the time constraints of basketball did not allow her to immerse herself into campus life as she'd like. Tricia is an outstanding student and is working hard to gain admittance into Baylor's honors program," Mulkey added.
