Men's Tennis Finishes Season Ranked No. 4

WACO, Texas - For the fourth time in school history Baylor's men's tennis team has finished the season ranked No. 4 or higher. In the final Fila Collgiate Tennis Rankings administered by the ITA and released today, the Bears checked in at No. 4.

Baylor, who advanced to the semifinals of the NCAA Championships held recently in Palo Alto, Calif., lost in the semifinals to top-ranked and No. 1 seeded Georgia, 4-3. The Bears concluded their 2006 campaign at 25-7 which tied for the fifth-most wins in program history. In addition, the No. 4 final rankings is tied for the third-best season ending finish in school history, behind the squad's 2004 NCAA championship (No. 1) and 2005 NCAA runnerup finish (No. 2). The Bears also ranked No. 4 at season's end in 2003.
