Baylor Head Coach Scott Drew:
"I think we have some explosive players on this team and it was a matter of time before they broke out. Our defense did a great job of getting us easy baskets."
"Normally you don't get those kinds of leads in the Big 12; so, it was good to relax and let them play."
"The first step in this league is to compete. You also really need to win your home games. Our fans did a really great job of cheering tonight. It is great to see their support so we hope to give the fans more to cheer about."
Baylor Center Tommy Swanson :
"Some teams take us lightly so it is important for us to jump on them early."
"We did a great job of dishing the ball tonight and getting open shots. It wasn't just the offense that kept us in the game tonight, it was our defense, too."
Baylor Guard Aaron Bruce:
"This win shows progress. We don't want to get ahead of ourselves though. A lot of people picked us to finish last in the conference so it would be nice to prove them wrong."
"The way we have been playing the last few games and practicing too, it is nice to play this way. We have done a great job of recognizing our problems and fixing them."
Missouri Head Coach Quin Snyder:
"There's more games for us to play. For me as a coach, I need to find out a way for our kids to get better. We ran into a hot team that at times looked like a great team. We just didn't play good enough to win."
"No matter how difficult it might be, there's a lot of character in that locker room. I've seen teams climb out of holes and there's no one in that locker room that is turning their back."
"Anytime you lose consecutive games, it can mount. I feel like it's my job to shoulder that. We need a win and I think that can lift that burden."
On Baylor:
"I saw a team that was on fire shooting jump shots. I saw a team that was aggressive defensively with the trap. I saw a fresh team. They gained a lot of confidence from Jerrells. They had two play-makers on the floor and that's hard to defend. They made a lot of great plays and you got to give them credit for that."
