Box Score | Notes

Baylor Head Coach Scott Drew:
"Very pleased with the effort tonight. I thought we played well both halves - we played a full forty minutes. The points of emphasis this week were rebounding and transition defense. We did a great job with both of those, so we're very pleased as a coaching staff."

Baylor Senior Forward Patrick Fields:
On his first game back from an MCL partial tear:
"The knee was fine. I didn't feel much pain. I was just getting used to the knee brace because as far as mobility, it limits you, but besides that I don't have any complaints. I'm just glad to be back. I got to get in shape so that I can get on the same page as the rest of the guys. I'm just happy to be back."

On Baylor's intensity:
"I know that a couple of people weren't as psyched up to play Prairie View but as far as names on jerseys, we don't need to look at that because there's goals that need to be accomplished every game. As far as we've played Prairie View, Alcorn State, etc., etc. We beat them by 20 whereas we should beat them more convincingly like the other teams around the Big 12 are doing. So that's a goal of ours that we needed to get. We needed to get more rebounds than them. We don't need to play a Syracuse to come with a Syracuse-type mentality. We set goals that we had to fulfill, and we did that today. That's the only thing watching from the bench. I just think that we need to play the same way against everybody because I remember back in 04-05, my sophomore year when it was just me, Aaron (Bruce), Tim (Bush), Kevis (Shipman), and Tommy (Swanson). Playing this team, we would have been hyped up. You would have thought we were in the Final Four. Because we knew there was a possibility that we could lose to some school girls. We just had eight or nine players. We need to come with that type of mentality where we have goals, period. No matter who we're playing we've got to fulfill them."

Baylor sophomore forward Kevin Rogers:
On the most important factor:
"Obviously rebounding. I mean we had 14 offensive rebounds to the team, and for the game we had 46 and we out rebounded them by 20. The work that we did in practice just transferred to the game. We were just so used to doing it in practice all week that it just transfers to the game, and obviously it was a big part of the win...I called it the week of boot camp. The week of boot camp got us ready."
