Recap | Box Score | Notes
BAYLOR HEAD COACH Kim Mulkey
On the game:
"We played better, with a little more pep in our step. Our defense set the tone for what we were trying to do offensively."
"When you have five players that score in double figures, extend a lead and make progress, that means you are improving. I thought we did all those things tonight."
On Bernice Mosby's performance:
"Bernice Mosby on the defensive end of the floor had her finest game helping her teammates, and that set the defensive tone for us."
On preparing for future games:
You've got to rest, go over scout reports and will yourself when you feel fatigue setting in. In the long run, it is going to help us. We'll be smart from here on out. You've got to go from one game to the next. You can't enjoy the victories for too long, you have to move on to the next game."
BAYLOR POST Bernice Mosby
On her performance:
"I feel a lot better. I'm just excited. Last game I didn't bring a lot of intensity to the floor. My team just got me excited to get back into the game."
On her defense:
"Defense is one thing the coach has emphasized a lot in practice. Against these teams, I wanted to focus on the defensive end, because I knew once I got that my offense would step up."
SOUTHEAST MISSOURI STATE HEAD COACH JOHN ISHEE
On Baylor
"Baylor is really talented. When the guards make shots like they are, they're going to beat a lot of people. My worst nightmare was the score from Texas A&M-CC, because I knew they'd be chomping at the bit for the better performance."
On Southeast Missouri's performance:
"My biggest disappointment as a coach was lack of effort. It had nothing to do with score and execution, it was our effort to be warriors and competitors. I was a lot better pleased in the second half."
