Lady Bears Roll Past Lady Lions, 100-48

WACO, Texas (AP) -The Baylor Lady Bears went right back to work after a nine-day layoff for final exams.

Danielle Wilson had 24 points and nine rebounds to lead No. 9 Baylor to a 100-48 victory over Arkansas-Pine Bluff on Wednesday night.

"We had finals so we took some practice days off," said Rachel Allison, who had a 13 points and 10 rebounds. "It was a good game to work on some things."

Jhasmin Player added 16 points, Rachel Allison had 13 and Angela Tisdale and Jessika Bradley scored 10 each to help the Lady Bears (10-1) win their seventh straight.

"I tried to go for the offensive boards today," said Wilson, who had five offensive rebounds.

Baylor opened the second half with a 19-5 run and stretched its lead to 72-26 over the winless Lady Lions (0-8) with just over 12 minutes remaining. The Lady Bears shot 62 percent from the field, connecting on 41 of their 66 shots.

"I was glad to have this game," Baylor coach Kim Mulkey said. "Our focus now is not check out early mentally and finish out right."

The game marked the second straight time the Lady Bears have scored 100 or more this season. Baylor beat Sam Houston 117-50 on Dec. 4.

Baylor dominated the Lady Lions in the paint, outscoring Arkansas-Pine Bluff 64-14. The Lady Bears also forced 31 turnovers, resulting in 43 Baylor points.

Delores Hughley led Arkansas-Pine Bluff with 22 points, 18 of them on 3-pointers, while Arica Green added 12.

Hughley's 3-pointer narrowed the Baylor lead to 17-15 with just under 12 minutes left in the first half. But the Lady Bears outscored Arkansas-Pine Bluff 36-6 to close out the period and led 53-21 at halftime.

Baylor shot 62 percent in the first half, hitting 21 of 34 attempts and dominated the Lady Lions inside. The Lady Bears also scored 34 points in the paint compared to eight for Arkansas-Pine Bluff and forced 16 turnovers resulting in 24 Baylor points.
