WNIT RECORDS BROKEN
In the recently completed Preseason WNIT, the Lady Bears broke two WNIT records. In its four games, Baylor registered 39 blocked shots shattering the old record of 21 set by Connecticut in 2005.

Freshman post Danielle Wilson blocked 20 shots, bettering Oklahoma standout Courtney Paris' record of 12 which she accomplished in 2005.

MOSBY AND WILSON HONORED
Bernice Mosby and Danielle Wilson were both named to the Preseason WNIT's All-Tournament team. They were joined by Purdue's Katie Gearlds (MVP) and Lindsay Wisdom-Hylton, BYU's Dani Kubik Wright and Marquetta Dickens of North Carolina State.

ON NOVEMBER 24TH AND 25TH
The dates of November 24 & 25 seem to be primarily travel dates for the Lady Bear basketball program. Baylor is 4-3 in games played on Nov. 24 and all but one have been road contests.

On November 25, BU sports a 2-4 record and four of those games were on the road.

Under the direction of head coach Kim Mulkey, Baylor has only played once on these dates. The Lady Bears posted a 65-60 win over the University of Denver at Waco on Nov. 25, 2001.

SCOUTING THE FIELD
UCF head coach Gail Streigler, a 1989 graduate of Central Arkansas, is in her eighth season as the Golden Knight's head coach and owns a career record of 99-110.

The Golden Knights are led on the season by 6-0 senior forward Keunta Miles' 12.6 points and 7.6 rebounds a game. Also joining Miles in double-digit scoring average is 5-4 senior guard Francine Houston at 10.8.

The South Dakota State Jackrabbits are led by seventh year head coach Aaron Johnston. The Jackrabbits, located in Brookings, S.D., moved up to NCAA Division I beginning with the 2004-05 season. They claimed the NCAA Division II national championship in 2003 after earning a share of the North Central Conference title for the first time in school history. SDSU is competing as an NCAA Division I independent and is not eligible for postseason play until 2008-09. Johnston's career record is 148-49.

The Jackrabbits 3-0 after a 85-51 win over SW Minnesota State on Nov. 19. In addition, they upset then-No. 19 Southern California 67-63 on Nov. 17. Senior guard Megan Vogel leads SDSU in scoring with 21.7 ppg. Sophomore forward Jennifer Warkenthien is the only other player averaging double figures with 10.0 ppg

This season, her 30th at Virginia, head coach Debbie Ryan is a member of a very elite club. Last season she recorded the 600th victory in her career, becoming the 11th women's coach all-time to achieve 600 wins in her coaching career. She received the WBCA Victory Club Award for her achievements. Ryan stands 635-264 in 30 seasons at Virginia, the Cavs are 3-0 entering Junkanoo Jam play. Ryan is also the fifth coach in NCAA Division I history to reach the mark with all the wins coming at the same school. During her tenure, Ryan has led the Cavaliers to 21 NCAA Tournament berths, three consecutive Final Four appearances, 11 ACC regular-season titles and three ACC Tournament titles.

Sophomore Lyndra Littles leads the Cavaliers with 14.3 points and 7.8 rebounds per game. Junior Sharneé Zoll follows with 13.5 ppg and 16 assists. Senior Siedah Williams adds 13.0 ppg and 7.0 rpg, while freshman Monica Wright contributes 11.3 ppg.

SERIES RECORD VS. THE FIELD

UCF - Baylor leads the series 1-0 after posting a 110-67 victory at Orlando, Fla., on Dec. 31, 1992 as part of the Central Florida Holiday Classic.

Virginia - Baylor and Virginia have only met once and the Cavaliers prevailed 80-51. That contest, broadcast by ESPN, was played on Jan. 24, 1999 at Charlottesville, Va.

South Dakota State - This will be the first meeting between the Lady Bears and the Jackrabbits.

BAYLOR ON THE SEASON
Five games into the season, two players are averaging double-digit scoring and two more, both of which are freshmen, are just below that mark.

Senior All-America candidate Bernice Mosby leads the way with 22.0 a game and junior point guard Angela Tisdale scores 10.4 points, freshman post Danielle Wilson drains 9.4 and Latara Darrett, a freshman guard, tallies 9.2.

Mosby is averaging a double-double with 13.4 rebounds a game to go with her 22.0 points. Wilson is the squad's second-leading rebounder with 7.6 a game and is followed closely by sophomore post Rachel Allison's 7.4.

FRESHMAN REJECTION

When she's in the game, freshman post Danielle Wilson has the ability to alter the opponent's game plan. In just five games Wilson has used her expansive wing span (82 1/4") to block a team- and league-leading 22 shots for an average of 4.4 an outing.

Wilson broke Oklahoma's Courtney Paris' WNIT blocked shot record. Paris set her record last season with 12, Wilson finished Preseason WNIT competition with 20.

MOBSY EARNS DOUBLE BIG 12 HONOR
Senior Bernice Mosby earned a double honor from the Big 12 Conference. The 6-1 forward was named Big 12 Player of the Week, an honor she shared with Oklahoma's Courtney Paris, and also garnered Big 12 Rookie of the Week kudos for the week of Nov. 13-19.

Mosby averaged 27 points and 9.5 rebounds in Baylor's two games against Top 25 teams last week. She shot 51.2 percent (21-41) from the floor and was nearly perfect from the free throw line (11-12), shooting 91.7 percent. In addition, she added four steals and two blocks. Against No. 22 BYU, Mosby poured in 28 points while hauling down eight rebounds and was 8-of-8 from the charity stripe. In Baylor's WNIT championship loss to 12th-ranked Purdue, Mosby turned in a 26-point, 11-rebound performance to notch her third double-double in four games and 63rd of her collegiate career. Mosby was named to the Preseason WNIT All-Tournament team.

IMPRESSIVE POST PLAY
In Baylor's 64-60 win over ninth-ranked LSU, a trio of Baylor post players totally dominated the game. Bernice Mosby and Danielle Wilson both produced double-doubles and Rachel Allison was one rebound shy of a double-double.

Mosby led the team with a 21-point, 17-rebound performance while Wilson notched her first career double-double with 11 points and 10 boards. Allison scored 10 points and hauled down nine rebounds in the winning effort.
