"Well, it's always better to win after a loss. TSU has played some good games. We did a good job of jumping on them early in the first half. The second half was not as good, but that gave us some things to work on over Thanksgiving."

On the difference between last year and this year:
"The first thing is confidence. One way to get that is home games. That's the difference this year."

Baylor forward Kevin Rogers
"We really tried to make a conscious effort to lock down on defense. Defense made a big difference in this game."

"I'm a lot more confident this year, we have great guards that get us the ball...we just have to make shots."

"The main focal point is defense, the second half we came out a little dead. Defense got us out to a big lead, we didn't score much but stops helped us a lot."

Baylor center Mamadou Diene
"I've been working all summer long on my defensive game. We need to step up inside and we need to score."

"Last year we lost a lot of close games. I asked Coach Drew and he said it's because we are a really young team. This year we are more mature, and better defensively. We practice hard daily and have stepped it up a lot.

"I love playing at home. Kevin gets a slam dunk and you hear the people screaming, I really love playing at home."
