WACO, Texas - The Baylor women's basketball team used an 18-0 run to start the game while holding Louisiana College scoreless for the first 8:31 of the contest as the Lady Bears cruised to a 94-23 win over the Lady Wildcats in the exhibition opener at the Ferrell Center.
Jessica Morrow led three Lady Bears in double digit scoring with 15 points on 6-of-9 from the field as Jessika Bradley added 13 points off the bench while Bernice Mosby scored 14 points in the win.
Nearly every Lady Bear scored in the victory as 11 Baylor players scored at least five points in the contest.
Baylor controlled the first 20 minutes as the Lady Bears held Louisiana College to 3-of-13 shooting (23.1%) and forced 20 first half turnovers en route to a 46-7 lead at the break.
Baylor would continue to control the game throughout the second half as the Bears out-scored the Lady Wildcats by 32 points over the final 20 minutes to claim a 71-point victory.
Baylor held the statistical edge in nearly every category as the Lady Bears scored 51 points off of 38 turnovers while Louisiana College managed only two points off of 14 forced turnovers.
Bradley led the way for Baylor with nine rebounds on the night as the Lady Bears held a 44-21 advantage on the glass.
Jhasmin Player recorded six assists to lead the way for Baylor while Morrow and Latara Darrett each posted four steals on the evening to lead the defensive effort.
For the game, Baylor shot 54.3 (38-of-70) percent from the field while Louisiana College shot only 27.0 (10-of-37) percent in the loss.
Baylor's most decided edge in the contest came in the paint where the Lady Bears held a 66-10 advantage while holding a 24-0 edge in fast break points.
Baylor will return to action on Tuesday, Nov. 7, at 7:00 p.m. when the Lady Bears host the Houston Cougars.
