Head Coach Scott Drew:
"No coach likes to lose a game, but I'm proud of the team and the double over time game showed the fatigue as we couldn't throw the ball in the ocean. Gonzaga is pretty good on the inside so it made it tough to get in the paint. Very happy though to see a younger team, we've got nine freshmen and sophomores and to compete this early on the road and not have you're "A" game and still be in the game."
(performance of Mamadou)
"Mamadou for a bad ankle and been absent for two weeks was a big force. Five offensive rebounds and we all know he was just scratching the surface. That was very encouraging, 17 offensive rebounds, that is what our team needed."
"Give the crowd some credit and give their team a lot of credit for having poise to make the big plays and never really giving us a chance to (take) that lead and get it close."
"I'm very encouraged as a coach because I know we can shoot it a lot better. We are going to re-group and get better throughout the year and maybe face them down the road somewhere."
"We are a guard oriented team and if you don't have a three point shot, that really hurts a guard. The Gonzaga defense obviously affected a lot contested shots. Give them the credit because they held us to 36 percent in the game."
Curtis Jerrells:
"Like coach said we got a lot of good looks and some of the shots that we normally knock down we practice. We just couldn't find a way to get it in from the outside."
"we went into the locker room with a lot of energy. We knew we weren't playing very well but we were only down 13 so we were right there in the mix."
Henry Dugat:
(on fatigue from last nights game)
"I believe it played a role in the game as the guards and the whole team, but we were ready to fight through and get back into the game. I think it showed a lot of heart from us that we never give up."
"We see where we have to go but we see we've come a long ways."
