Cross Country Runs at NCAA Regional

WACO, Texas - The Baylor women's cross country teamed finish second to earn an automatic berth into the NCAA Cross Country Championships while the men finished seventh at the NCAA South Central Regional on Saturday.
On the women's side, senior Monique Ortega led the way for the Bears finishing 10th overall with a time of 20:59.7 while freshman Nichole Jones finished 13th with a time of 21:01.8.
Juniors Lauren Hagans and Lyndsy Bedell secured top 20 finishes with Hagans finishing 16th (21:07.9) and Bedell finishing 17th (21:10.6)
Senior Brittany McGuire rounded out the scoring for the women finishing 27th in a time of 21:51.7.
Senior Ruth Waller (30th, 21:59.3) and freshman Danielle Bradley (38th, 22:17.4) also had strong showings for the Bears.
On the men's side senior Bo Price led the Bears finishing 15th with a time of 30:46.9.Senior Rob Morrow was the second Baylor runner to cross the line finishing 33rd with a time of 31:49.7 while sophomore Rey Hinojosa raced to a 36th-place finish (31:59.7)
Freshman Ben Haby (47th, 32:15.2), sophomore Jacob Jones (69th, 33:12.0) and sophomore Mark Smith (91st, 34:15.7) also had strong showings for the Bears as the men closed out their season at the regional meet.
Arkansas claimed both the men's and women's team title while Southern Methodist's Rachael Forish claimed the individual women's title with a time of 20:30.4 and Texas A&M- Corpus Christi's Shadrack Songok won the men's individual title finishing in a time of 29:40.5
The Baylor women will close out their season when the Bears run in the NCAA Cross Country Championship in Terre Haute, Ind., on Monday, Nov. 20.
