LINCOLN, Neb. - Nebraska scored in the 81st minute to tie the game as the Huskers picked up the game-winning goal just 51 seconds into overtime as the Baylor soccer team dropped a tough, 2-1 decision, in action on a sunny afternoon at Nebraska Stadium on Friday. With the loss, Baylor falls to 5-7-1 on the season, 2-3-0 in Big 12 play, while Nebraska improves to 7-3-3, 2-2-1 in conference action.

Baylor jumped out to a first half lead as Missy McConnell drilled a pass from Anna Schuch into the upper-right hand corner of the net to give the Bears an early, 1-0 lead in the 31st minute. The goal was the fourth of the season for McConnell as Schuch added her team-leading third assist of the season on the tally.

Despite Nebraska having a majority of the good scoring chances throughout, the lead held until the 81st minute, when the Huskers finally got on the board on a Brittany Timko goal.

As the game headed into overtime, Nebraska finished things off quickly as Aysha Jamani scored off a corner kick just 51 seconds into overtime to give the Huskers the victory.

Timko and Carly Peetz added assists on the goal as Nebraska picked up its second straight victory over Baylor and improved to 12-3 all-time against the Bears.

The Baylor defense continued its strong play as Ashley Holder took the tough-luck loss in net after making seven saves on the night.

Jamie Klages picked up the win for Nebraska, making one save on the afternoon.

Nebraska held a 28-6 edge in shots and a 12-1 edge in corner kicks as McConnell led the way for Baylor with three shots on the afternoon.

With Sunday off, Baylor will return to action on Friday, Sept. 13, when the Bears host Oklahoma State at 7:00 p.m.
