Cavs' Wesley Excels Despite Humble Beginnings

Cavaliers guard David Wesley is arguably the NBA's best example of why the college draft is not the only route to a successful professional career.

Wesley and Hall of Fame center Moses Malone are the lone players in the history of the league to score more than 11,000 career points despite not being selected in the NBA Draft.

And, while saying Malone was never drafted by an NBA team is technically correct, it is something of a stretch. Malone played two seasons in the American Basketball Association before he was selected by the NBA's Buffalo Braves in a mid-1970's dispersal draft.
