WACO, Texas - Baylor basketball fans got a glimpse of the women's and men's basketball teams at the Chase Moonlight Madness held in the Ferrell Center on Friday night.
The evening began with inflatable games outside the Ferrell Center for fans of all ages. The festivities continued inside the Ferrell Center with a BMX stunt team providing breathtaking aerial bike tricks and stunts for the crowd.
After an introduction of the teams and warm-ups, several contests were held. First up was a 3-point shootout where four Lady Bears competed against each other. Freshman Latara Darrett claimed the 3-point contest edging out junior point guard Angela Tisdale. Also competing were senior LaToya Wyatt and sophomore Jessica Morrow. Jhasmin Player, a sophomore, teamed with Mark Shepherd to win the 2-ball shootout contest, beating out teammates Rachel Allison, Bernice Mosby and Whitney Jones.
After the completion of the contests and a brief scrimmage by the men's team, schedule posters were distributed and all players were available for autographs.
"I thought this was a very good event to tip off the new season," said Lady Bear head coach Kim Mulkey. "The fans got a chance to see all of the players in action and got to meet them afterwards. A good time was had by all."
