The Baylor football team completed its work week with a full-pad workout Thursday afternoon on the grass practice fields at Floyd Casey Stadium.

"I was pleased with today's workout," said Baylor coach Guy Morriss. "It was short and crisp. We've gotten done what we need to the past two days and I really believe they'll come back fresh and ready to get after it on Monday night.

"This week has really given us a chance to look at our younger players, and I feel good about the progress they are making. Once we get into the Big 12 schedule, we'll start scrimmaging them (the redshirts) on Sundays so that we can keep developing them."

The Bears will take the next three days off before returning to practice Monday evening under the Floyd Casey Stadium lights.

Baylor, off to a 3-0 start for the first time since the 1996 season, opens Big 12 play on Oct. 1 at Texas A&M in a game that will be televised by Fox Sports Net. The Bears haven't opened 4-0 since a 5-0 start to the 1991 campaign.
