Brockman Named Big 12 Runner of the Week

DALLAS, Texas -- Baylor women's cross country runner Brittany Brockman was named Big 12 Conference Cross Country Runner of the Week for her performance at the Texas A&M Invitational the conference office announced Tuesday. Brockman finished first at the Texas A&M Invitational and earned her second career conference runner of the week honor.

Brockman captured her fourth career title and led the No. 24 Baylor cross country team to a perfect score finish at the Texas A&M Invitational in College Station, Texas. A junior from Houston, Texas, she finished the 5,000-meter course in a time of 16:45, 12 seconds ahead of teammate Erin Bedell. The victory was the second consecutive of the year for Brockman.

Tim Ross of Missouri captured the honor on the men's side.

Brockman and the rest of the Baylor cross country team will return to action on Saturday, Sept. 24, when the Bears travel to Minneapolis, Minn., to run in the Roy Griak Invitational.
