Women's Tennis Releases 2005-06 Schedule

Baylor's women's tennis team, coming off its best season in the program's history, has assembled another highly competitive schedule, head coach Joey Scrivano announced today.
"I feel really good about the schedule for 2006. I think it's one of our stronger schedules thus far, and it's going to give our team a great opportunity to only improve on the ranking that we have right now," said Scrivano. During his three seasons at Baylor, Scrivano has led the women to two Big 12 Championships and two NCAA tournament appearances.
The Bears, defending Big 12 champions, return every player off of last season's roster, including NCAA singles champion Zuzana Zemenova. At the end of last year's regular season, the women posted a program-best record of 11-0 which established a record-setting undefeated Big 12 season. The team also advanced to the NCAA Round of 16 ending the year with another program-best record, 24-6.
Baylor opens the season by hosting the Baylor Invitational for the tenth straight year from Sept. 16-18 at the
Nov. 3-6 - at ITA National Indoors - Columbus, Ohio
Nov. 4-7 - at Palm Spring Classic - Palm Springs, Calif.
The spring schedule boasts matches against six teams that ranked among the nation's top 15 at the end of last season, including No. 3 Texas, No. 6 Georgia Tech, No. 7 USC, No. 8 Vanderbilt, No. 13 Miami, and No. 15 Tulane.
