BAYLOR 48, SAMFORD 14 - POST GAME QUOTES
Sept. 10, 2005

BAYLOR HEAD COACH Guy Morriss
"Its a great win. We're happy to be 2-0. Its just the second step towards our goal. We're pleased and happy to have a win. We're happy to win; but, I don't want our kids to think that we as coaches or them as players can be satisfied. We just have to play with a sense of urgency."

On turnovers:
"We've been stressing our turnover ratio all camp long and encouraging our defensive backs to walk the line and be aggressive. If there's one penalty that I can put up with it's pass interference."

On Samford's offense:
"They have a good offense. It is very similar to SMU. They do a good job of running and they have two good receivers, and they were keeping us on our heels."

BAYLOR WR Trent Shelton
"The offense did a great job all the way around. I think we played good as a whole but we will get more consistent during the season."

BAYLOR OS Willie Andrews
" We had a lot of turnovers last week and came out with the win. We need to do anything we can to help our offense out."

BAYLOR DE Marcus Foreman
"As the game went on we became more comfortable with the pace of the game and could focus on the turnovers. My motto is four (turnovers) to win."

BAYLOR WR Shaun Rochon
"My priority is to catch the ball and make the return. I try to make the most out of it. I had two guys to get past so once i got past them I had to trust my speed."

BAYLOR CJ WILSON
"Its a great feeling to to begin the season two and zero. Its a great season start. Now expectations are going to go up, and we can't be satisfied."

SAMFORD HEAD COACH BILL GRAY
"We are obviously a little down. We wanted to put on a good show but we let it get a little out of hand and allowed some easy scores. We put out a good effort, we fought hard and I'm proud of this team. We will be a better football team for it. We need to be a better football team and learn from this. We need to be better next week."

On Defense:
"The defense did good but they wore us down up front. We turned it over early on and the defense just got tired."

On Offense:
"I'm very pleased with the way we conducted ourselves and as we saw last week with SMU, they (SMU) had some trouble converting on this team on third downs. We did a decent job converting on third downs."
