FSN Southwest gets college football fans geared up for the upcoming season Saturday, Aug. 20 (1:00-4:00 p.m. Central) with six consecutive 30 minute preview specials on each Big 12 Conference South Division school. Coach Guy Morriss' Bears will be featured at 1 p.m. on Aug. 20.
The DR PEPPER ROAD TO HOUSTON series examines what each South Division team must do to reach the 2005 Big 12 Championship Game Dec. 3 at Houston's Reliant Stadium. Hosted by FSN Big 12 play-by-play announcer Bill Land, each 30-minute show (see schedule below) includes an in-depth interview with the respective team's coach, a look at key returning players, a comprehensive break down of strengths and weaknesses by FSN Big 12 analysts Dave Lapham and Gary Reasons, and player profiles.
Coaches also offer their opinions on the new instant replay system being implemented this year, and in commemoration of the Big 12's 10th anniversary, reflect back on the first nine years of the conference.
The DR PEPPER ROAD TO HOUSTON preview specials help kick off FSN's extensive 2005 Big 12 football game coverage that includes 17 national telecasts, beginning Saturday, Sept. 3 at 6:00 PM CT as Texas hosts Louisiana-Lafayette.
The programs are telecast throughout the network's Southwest region, reaching more than 8 million cable and satellite TV subscribers in Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Louisiana and parts of New Mexico.
Additionally, each preview show airs nationally on Fox College Sports (FCS) - three regionally-aligned channels (FCS Atlantic, FCS Central, FCS Pacific) programmed from the 20 FSN and FSN-affiliated regional sports networks available to 40 million digital cable homes nationwide.
