WACO, Texas - The Dr Pepper Bottling Company of Texas has produced a limited number of bottles commemorating the Baylor Lady Bears' NCAA national basketball championship.
This marks just the third time for commemorative bottles honoring Baylor, the 1974 and 1980 Southwest Conference championship football teams were honored in the same manner.
Only 72,000 of the commemorative bottles were run and no more will be produced. The bottles are currently being sold in various locations throughout Central Texas.
"We are deeply moved that Dr Pepper has chosen to honor the Lady Bears with a commemorative bottle. Baylor athletics is truly blessed for the support that Jim Turner and Dr Pepper provide to our University," said head coach Kim Mulkey-Robertson.
