NEW YORK, NY - Baylor's Kim Mulkey-Robertson and North Carolina's Roy Williams were each awarded the New York Athletic Club's Winged Foot Award at an awards presentation dinner at the Club on Thursday, May 19 in New York City.
The New York Athletic Club's Winged Foot Award is among the most prestigious in the world of collegiate basketball. The award, celebrating its 10th anniversary, honors the winning coaches of the women's and women's NCAA Basketball Championships. Williams, in his second year as the coach at North Carolina, will receive his first Winged Foot Award after guiding the Tar Heels to a 33-4 record and the program's fourth NCAA men's national championship. Mulkey-Robertson will also take home her first Winged Foot Award after leading the Lady Bears to the program's first NCAA women's national championship.
