AUSTIN, Texas - Baylor freshman Brittany Devereaux (Denton, Texas) launched a throw of 47.99 meters (157-05) in the discus to finish third in her section on day two of the Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays Friday at Mike A. Myers Stadium.
In the long jump, senior April Holliness (Duncanville, Texas) posted a regional qualifying mark of 6.07 meters (19-11) to finish sixth, while junior Chris Gillis leaped 7.34 meters (24-1) to finish 12th.
The women's 4x100-meter relay squad qualified for Saturday's final, clocking 44.67 for the fifth-fastest time, while the 4x400-meter team ran 3:34.81 to qualify fourth for the final. Senior Lakadron Ivery (Tyler, Texas) qualified individually for the 100-meter final with the fourth-best time of 11.57.
Senior Elizabeth Wilson (Duncanville, Texas) finished 12th in the 100 with a regional qualifying mark of 11.70, while junior Marquisha Sefas (Fort Worth, Texas) finished 32nd at 12.09.
Junior Janelle Mulkey (San Antonio, Texas) finished 28th in the 100 hurdles, while junior Jerome Miller (Houston, Texas) posted a regional qualifying mark of 14.11 in the 110 hurdles, but barely missed the final, finishing 10th.
The Texas Relays conclude Saturday.
