DES MOINES, Iowa - For the second straight week, Baylor senior Darold Williamson (San Antonio, Texas) got the best of his training partner, former Bear and Olympic gold medalist Jeremy Wariner, to claim a victory in the 400 meters. Williamson ran 45.24, while Wariner posted 45.42 in cold, windy conditions on the final day of the Drake Relays Saturday at Drake Stadium.
Williamson also anchored the 4x400-meter relay to victory with a season-best time of 3:05.19. Williamson was joined by sophomores Kevin Mutai (Round Rock, Texas) and Mark Teter (San Antonio, Texas) and junior Wil Fitts (Desoto, Texas).
Senior Elizabeth Wilson (Duncanville, Texas) won the university 100 meters in 11.67, while senior Lakadron Ivery (Tyler, Texas) ran 11.50 to finish second in the special 100 meters.
The women's 4x400 relay of freshman Carla Grace (San Antonio, Texas), Ivery, senior Danielle Myricks (Willingboro, N.J.) and junior Angel Perkins (Cerritos, Calif.) finished second with a time of 3:37.36.
Junior Rob Morrow (Grapevine, Texas) finished ninth in the 3,000-meter steeplechase in 9:13.40, while junior Jerome Miller (Houston, Texas) finished 13th in the 110-meter hurdles in 14.53.
The Bears return to action at the Big 12 Outdoor Championships May 13-15 in Manhattan, Kan.
