WACO, Texas - Steffanie Blackmon was named Big 12 Women's Basketball Player of the Week for games played from Feb. 14-20, the conference office announced Monday.

Blackmon received her first player of the week honor of the season and the second of her career. Players are nominated by each school's sports information office and voted on by a panel of media who cover Big 12 women's basketball.

Blackmon, a 6-2 senior post, led Baylor to two victories last week to help the Lady Bears attain 20 wins for each of her four years with the program. She also dished out five assists and blocked three shots. Against Missouri, the Dallas, Texas, native scored a career-high 31 points and hauled down 11 rebounds to record her seventh double-double of the season. She followed that performance with 22 points and eight rebounds versus Iowa State. Blackmon averages 16.3 points and 8.4 rebounds a contest for the season.
