Football 11/3/2005 12:00:00 AM

Nov. 3, 2005

Another week and another highly ranked team with loads of talent to play. This is why the Big 12 is one of the premiere conferences in the country.

We are coming off games against Nebraska, Oklahoma and Texas Tech, and now we have the University of Texas rolling in here this weekend. But to be honest, this is why I came to Baylor. I wanted to play against the best, and that is what I am getting to do. I played the first game of my career against Texas four years ago in Floyd Casey, and I can't help but to think about the huge changes that have been made since then.

This week is the biggest challenge that we have faced all season, but it is also the biggest opportunity. We can do so much to raise the national profile of Baylor Football by playing well this weekend. We have taken so many positive steps this season, but this will be a real test of where we stand when compared against the elite of college football.

We have three more games to get the two wins that will get us to our goal, and I think that the team is focusing in for a strong finish. We have been fortunate enough to stay pretty much injury-free this season, and we are poised to really finish up well. This has been our best week of practices since the A&M week, and I really believe that we are ready for Texas.

So make sure to come out and support your Bears. This could really be something special, and we will need your help to do it. The game will once again be televised for those of you who can't make it to Waco on FSN Southwest at 11:30 a.m. Sic `Em Bears!
