Nov. 14, 2005

Fort Collins, Colo. - Due to damage Hurricane Wilma had on the Moon Palace Resort in Cancun, Mexico, the Caribbean Classic women's basketball event scheduled for November 24-27, 2005, will be relocated to the Aventura Spa Palace Resort.

The resort is located about 60 miles south of Cancun and sustained far less damage than was experienced near the city of Cancun. Aventura Spa Palace has been open and operating since November 4th and a personal site visit confirmed the property was in a position to more than adequately host the event. Games will be played on the dates and times originally scheduled at the Convention Center at Aventura Spa Palace.

Baylor will take on California on Sat., Nov. 26 and Marshall on Sun., Nov. 27. Both games will tip off at 1:30 p.m. (CST). Also participating in the Classic are Arizona State, Louisville, Mississippi State, North Carolina and TCU.

Anyone wanting to attend the event and wishing to stay at the resort can contact Sally at Triple Crown Sports Travel at 970-223-6644 ext. 139 to check on room availability. It is essential that all individuals who had planned on attending the event confirm their reservations because many airlines have canceled flights to Cancun.
