Box Score

STILLWATER, Okla. -- The Baylor soccer team fell behind early and was unable to finish on some good scoring opportunities as the Bears fell to Oklahoma State 3-0 in action at Cowgirl Soccer Stadium. With the loss, Baylor falls to 3-10-1 on the season, 1-5 in the conference as Oklahoma State improves to 10-3-2, 3-3 in the conference with the win.

"We played well at times and created some good opportunities to score," head coach George Van Linder said. "The match was just a matter of them finishing their scoring opportunities while we were unable to do so. We just have to rebound and be ready to play a good Oklahoma team on Sunday."

Jamie Markaverich put the Cowgirls up just a minute-and-a-half into the match as she took a pass from Angelika Feldbacher and scored in the second minute to give Oklahoma State the early 1-0 lead.

After the game headed into halftime with the same score, Markaverich added her second goal of the contest in the 55th-minute to give Oklahoma State a 2-0 lead.

Ashlyn Brantley put the final touches on the victory as she scored in the 87th-minute to give Oklahoma State a 3-0 victory.

Baylor had several opportunities throughout, out-shooting Oklahoma State 15-11 for the match; however, Jeanne Rankin made four saves in net for the Cowgirls to record the victory.

Ashley Holder made three saves in goal for Baylor as Anna Schuch led the Bears attack with three shots on the match

Baylor will return to action on Sunday, Oct. 16, when the Bears travel to Norman, Okla., to face Oklahoma at 1:00 p.m.
