Head Coach Scott Drew "We are a team that is good enough to take away one or the other - we can take the inside away or the outside. Since SMU, we have made a conscious effort to take away the inside. Tonight I think you saw what happens when a team is on fire from the three."
On Mamadou Diene:
That is good news. Mamadou will here about twelve o'clock tonight and will be at school tomorrow. He will be getting caught up for the next couple of days of classwork. I know we are extremely excited to have a seven-footer... He is a great prospect, but is one of those guys who will need some time getting use to American basketball."
Aaron Bruce
"We are very disappointed. We are a very competitive team, and we work very hard. We pride ourselves on being competitive, so it hurts to have a loss like this especially two in a row. Oklahoma State and Kansas are two great teams, but they are at level we want to be at."
Tommy Swanson
"They have great shooters on their team. We could have done a better job on testing those shots. We also started off the second half with 10 turnovers and when you play against a top-10 teams you can't make those mistakes."
Bill Self, Kansas head coach
On last game:
"I noticed a change in attitude as far as, not that the attitude was bad, they seemed to be a re-focused group. The loss to Villanova made this a very big game to our guys and I thought we came out and played accordingly."
On the play of Aaron Bruce:
"I think he is terrific. I think he is unorthodox and he can make you unbalanced. He is one of those guys who looks out of control at times but never is. He can force contact on drives very well. Even the shots when he is well-guarded, he can get to the free throw line. I haven't really studied him before scouting and I have to say I agree with (Dick) Vitale, I don't think there are 6 freshmen out there better than him."
