Head Coach Scott Drew

Opening Statement: "Coaches always worry when you have a big a game coming up on Saturday, about overlooking an earlier opponent. The other thing is you worry about picking up an injury. The good thing is we didn't overlook them and we didn't pick up any injuries."

On Slow Start: "We came out trying to pressure them and really trying to get some easy baskets in transition. Give credit to Savannah State they did a good job getting back. We missed a lot of shots and that kind of compounded the energy. It's like working an eight hour day and not getting paid, you need both of them to get that energy."

Tommy Swanson, Baylor Center

On tied wins from last year: "It's a great feeling. It boosts our confidence, because we didn't hit that mark until conference started last year. Our team's chemistry has progressed, and hopefully we can carry that into the Big 12."

Aaron Bruce, Baylor guard

On preparing for OU: I think just need to prepare earlier, and take things more seriously. We need to train well, which we have started to do. We are looking forward to OU this weekend, and we will start preparing tonight."

Patrick Fields, Baylor forward

On the start of Big 12: "We know its going to be tough. We are going to have to prepare accordingly. We'll go into each game believing we can win, because that's what coach has put in our hearts."
