Baylor Olympic gold medalist Jeremy Wariner will throw out the ceremonial first pitch at the Texas Rangers' game against the Anaheim Angels Tuesday, Sept. 28, at Ameriquest Field in Arlington.
Wariner, a junior at Baylor who will now compete professionally, captured the gold medal in the 400 meters at the Olympic Games in Athens, then helped the 4x400-meter relay team capture gold along with BU teammate Darold Williamson. Wariner was also the NCAA indoor and outdoor champion and the United State champion in the 400 metersand was a member of the indoor and outdoor NCAA champion 4x400-meter relay squads.
Wariner is a native of Grand Prairie, Texas, and a graduate of Arlington Lamar High School, just minutes away from Ameriquest Field.
