WACO, Texas - Baylor University's women's basketball team will play on television a program-high six times during the 2004-05 regular season. Baylor will appear on Fox Sports Network (FSN) four times and on ESPN2 twice. As part of the Big 12 Conference's television packet, Baylor will play conference games on FSN against Texas (twice), Oklahoma State and Texas Tech. The Texas (Jan. 8), Oklahoma State (Feb. 12) and Texas Tech (March 3) games will be in the Ferrell Center and the other Texas game (Jan. 22) will be on the road. Eighteen regular season games and seven Phillips 66 Big 12 Tournament matchups are included in the FSN package. In addition, the Lady Bears will take part in the Big 12-SEC Challenge, hosting Florida (Dec. 19) in a game to be broadcast on ESPN2. Baylor will open the season on ESPN2 on Nov. 9 when it plays LSU in Austin, Texas, as part of the State Farm Tip-Off Classic. Prior to this year, four appearances had been the most regular season television appearances for the Lady Bears. Baylor games were broadcast four times during the 1998-99, 2001-02 and 2003-04 regular seasons. Baylor returns four starters off last season's 26-9 squad that advanced to the NCAA's Sweet 16 for the first time in the school's history.
