Ivery, Holliness Take Gold at NACAC Games

SHERBROOKE, Canada - Baylor junior Lakadron Ivery (Tyler, Texas) fought through a strong headwind to run a 24.42 in the 200 meters and junior April Holliness (Duncanville, Texas) posted a leap of 6.28 meters as both claimed gold medals at the NACAC-TELUS Under-23 Championships at Universite de Sherbrooke Stadium.

Ivery also had the fastest qualifying time of 24.37 in her first competition since injuring her hamstring at the NCAA Midwest Region Championships at College Station, Texas, on May 29.

Holliness, who finished third at the NCAA Championships in Austin and is the school record holder in the event, posted her fifth-longest jump of the season.

NACAC are the North American Collegiate Championships and also include teams from Central America and the Caribbean.
