Runners King, McCoin Named Academic All-District VI

WACO, Texas - Baylor senior distance runners Kyle King and Megan McCoin, both members of the cross country and track teams, were named to the CoSIDA Academic All-District VI First Team selected and released by the College Sports Information Directors of America Thursday.

King, a native of Sulpher Springs, Texas, earned a 3.59 grade-point average as a mathematics major. King is also a two-time All-American in the 5,000 meters and the school record holder both indoors (13:56.83) and outdoors (13:57.22) in the event. King finished ninth at the NCAA Indoor Championships earlier this season and finished fourth at last week's NCAA Midwest Regional to qualify for the upcoming NCAA Outdoor Championships. King was a two-time Academic All-Big 12 selection and has been on the Big 12 Commissioner's Honor Roll multiple times.

McCoin, a biology/pre-med major from Houston, earned a perfect 4.0 cumulative GPA while at Baylor. McCoin helped the cross country team to a second-place finish in the Big 12, its highest-ever finish, as well as second at the NCAA Regional and a Top 25 finish at the NCAA Championships. On the track, McCoin finished ninth in the 10,000 meters at the Big 12 Outdoor Championships. McCoin is a three-time Academic All-Big 12 selection and has been on the Big 12 Commissioner's Honor Roll every semester.

The Baylor track team concludes the season at the NCAA Outdoor Championships June 9-12 at Mike A. Myers Stadium in Austin, Texas.
