WACO, Texas - The Baylor men's track team fell one spot into a tie for sixth, while the women fell out of the rankings in the latest Trackwire 25 released Tuesday.

Sophomore Jeremy Wariner (Grand Prairie, Texas) took over the No. 1 spot in the 400 meters from junior teammate Darold Williamson (San Antonio, Texas), who drops to second, in this the Dandy Dozen. Williamson currently holds the top time in the world at 44.59, with Wariner second at 44.80; however, Wariner ran a faster time at the Big 12 Conference Championships but was disqualified for stepping on a lane line.

The pair also has the 4x400-meter relay ranked No. 1 for a 15th straight week. The squad, which also includes sophomore Jamen Saziru (Waco, Texas) and freshman Mark Teter (San Antonio, Texas), has the fastest time in the nation at 3:01.06. Senior Joel Martin (Stephenville, Texas) led off when the Bears won the Big 12 title in the event in place of Saziru, who was bothered by back problems.

Sophomore Wil Fitts (Desoto, Texas) ranks seventh in the country in the 800 meters, while the 4x100 relay team of freshman Braelon Davis (Dallas, Texas), Williamson, Wariner and Saziru drops to 12th.

On the women's side, junior LaKadon Ivery (Tyler, Texas) ranks ninth in the 100 meters and 11th in the 200 meters and anchors the 4x100-meter relay, which ranks seventh, and the 4x400-meter relay, which ranks 11th. Junior April Holliness (Duncanville, Texas) ranks 11th in the long jump, while senior Jordan Willmann (Llano, Texas) ranks 12th in the heptathlon.

The Trackwire 25 projects a hypothetical score for the NCAA meet, factoring in injury reports and other variables supported by information gathered from coaches and NCAA-qualifying competitions across the country. This projection is generated by scoring the Dandy Dozen, a power ranking of the top 12 athletes and relay squads in each NCAA event. The complete Trackwire 25 can be found at www.trackwire.com.

The Bears return to action at the Georgia Tech Invitational Friday and Saturday in Atlanta.
