Damp weather forced the Baylor football team to spend Tuesday's entire half-pad workout on the Floyd Casey Stadium turf. The Bears had been splitting time between the grass practice fields and the new stadium turf prior to today's workout.
"It was good on both sides with a lot of plays being made on both sides of the ball," Baylor coach Guy Morriss said. "The competition was good and the tempo was up. I think the weather might have had something to do with it. They seemed to have a little more zip today than they had the last couple of days which was good.
"We still have some new things going in, so rather than reacting we are still thinking a little bit, but that is to be expected," he added. "We are looking at a lot of young guys and giving some people some reps and holding some guys that we feel comfortable are going to be players for us next year. Overall, I thought it was a good day."
In the midst of practicing four consecutive days for the only time during spring ball, the Bears will go back to work Wednesday at 2:40 p.m. then break for the Easter holiday following their full-pad practice Thursday afternoon. All practices are open to the public.
