WACO, Texas - Baylor junior sprinter Lakadron Ivery was named Big 12 Conference Women's Track Athlete of the Week for her performances at the Dr Pepper Invitational this past weekend, the league office announced Tuesday.
In the Bears' first home meet and first outdoor meet of the season, Ivery took the 100-meter title with a regional qualifying time of 11.67, despite slowing up because of confusion where the finish line was. She also anchored the 4x440 relay squad to a regional qualifying time of 3:43.30.
Ivery was an indoor All-American in the 60 meters, turning in a 10th-place finish at the NCAA Championships in Fayetteville, Ark. on March 12.
The Bears return to action as they head to the UTA Invitational on Saturday, March 27 in Arlington, Texas.
