Baylor

Head Coach Kim Mulkey-Robertson

Opening Statement:
"It was a great ball game. I think Baylor University sent a message to the NCAA committee that they're very worthy of a high seed as well as Texas."

On the play of Stacy Stephens...
"Stacy is just a big body in there, you just don't move her. When she can get in the paint and post, there aren't many girls who can move her out of there. On the defensive end, I feel like she's a liability. When we play against them, we are going to take it right at her with the athletes that we have."

Sophomore, Forward, Sophia Young

On playing Texas close...
"We knew it was going to be a really good game and we knew it was going to be intense. We weren't going to let them blow us out. We were going to take our time to play and we knew it would come to one shot. It was a really good game, we had fun out there."

On the inside game...
"I think every team tries to shut our post game down so I knew it was coming and we prepared for it."

Senior, Forward, Dionne Brown

On the difference in the two halves...
"I just wasn't hitting the same shots. When you're in a zone, you just keep shooting. If it falls it falls, if it doesn't it doesn't. I just felt like I couldn't miss during the first half, so I kept shooting. Everybody gave a great effort and filled in where they needed to."

On final inbound play...
"It was a good play, coach drew it up and we played it the best we could and we had confidence in everybody on the floor to run the play. Things like that happen, but we'd draw up the same play again, it was a good play."

On playing Steffanie Blackmon's attitude going into the game...
"Steffanie is a competitor, she wants to win every game whether she's on or off the floor. She was just trying to pump the team up and keep the team morale up and play that captain role. The support she gave us was great."

Texas

Head Coach Jody Conradt

Opening Statement:
"We give hope and meaning to the survivors series. It just keeps coming. I have ran out of ways to describe what this team does on the line. It was difficult for us to say focused defensively and get in an offensive flow."

On Stacy Stephens:
"It is difficult to lose Stacy. She is our only senior and a very good defensive player. Tiffany did a good job. She had some physical plays and shots were rolling in and out. I really wanted our guards to shoot. We can't figure out why there is hesitation there. We become too dependent on people inside."

On Baylor losing Blackmon to an injury:
"The first thing I talked to the girls about was that. I reminded them that good teams fight through adversity. When you lose a good player like Blackmon you are disappointed whether it is your player or not."

On Texas's defense:
"This team can defend. The last couple of weeks I have been disappointed, but when they know that have to play it they can. This team trusts their defense."

Sophomore Guard Nina Norman

Getting second chance at two free-throws:
"I was a little upset at myself for missing the free-throw. I am glad Kala bailed me out. They fouled me again thinking I was going to miss, but I concentrated and made them both."

Freshman Forward Tiffany Jackson

Defensive Strategy Plan:
"The whole season we sometimes we take plays off but I knew we couldn't do that tonight. We just knew we had to play defense and not just offense for every minute of the game."

On Sophia Young's game:
"Sophia had a great game. She may have forgotten my name in the last press conference, but I will not forget hers."

Senior Forward Stacy Stevens

On Big 12 games:
"These games are always really fun. You have to put your entire body and mind into the game. Coming into the game every body knew it was going to be a tough contest to win."
